  • The NYS Power Authority is developing an Energy Master Plan for the City of Albany: The Public is invited to submit energy-saving ideas. Please see the Press Release for further details.

  • Seminar on Planning for Streamside Habitats and Flood Resilience: A primer that will provide basic information on stream dynamics - how streams naturally flow on the land, how streams respond to disturbance and problems that can arise from the interaction of streams and human-built infrastructure, especially during flood events.   • NYSDEC Erosion and Sediment Control Construction Activity Training: The Albany County Soil and Water Conservation District is offering a DEC-approved 4 hour training course in the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control at 8 a.m. on 10/10/14 at 6 Airline Drive, Albany, NY 12203.   • North Country Stormwater Tradeshow and Conference: The Champlain Watershed Improvement Coalition of NY and NYSDEC are hosting the 10th annual Stormwater Tradeshow and Conference on Thursday October 16, 2014 at the Queensbury Hotel in downtown Glens Falls, NY.   • Land Use Planning Workshops for Rensselaer Plateau Communities: The Rensselaer Plateau Alliance, Hudsonia Ltd., and the NYSDEC are offering two land use planning workshops in October (10/1 & 10/18) for Rensselaer Plateau communities. The trainings will focus on using new townwide ecological maps from the Rensselaer Plateau Regional Conservation Plan in local planning and decision-making. While these workshops will highlight resources developed for the Rensselaer Plateau, the concepts and strategies that will be discussed are broadly relevant to other communities, and we will accept registrations from other localities as space permits.   • The Woods in Your Backyard - Part 2: Taking Action to Create and Enhance Natural Areas on Your Property: A webinar & field trip program for landowners and homeowners in the Hudson River Estuary watershed offered by the NYSDEC Hudson River Estuary Program and the Cornell Cooperative Extension.   • Southeast NY Stormwater Conference: The annual SE NY Stormwater Conference, sponsored by the Lower Hudson Coalition of Conservation Districts, is scheduled for Wednesday, 10/15/14, in Dutchess Manor, Beacon, NY. The conference provides an opportunity for municipal officials and staff to learn about stormwater management from experts in the field and their peers throughout the region.   • Putting Greene County Habitats on the Map in Local Planning — A workshop for land use decision-makers: This interactive workshop for municipal officials and others involved in land-use decision-making or conservation will introduce maps and resources from the recently completed Greene County Grassland Habitat Management Plan. CDRPC serves the best interests of the public and private sectors by promoting intergovernmental cooperation; communicating, collaborating, and facilitating regional initiatives; and sharing information and fostering dialogues on solutions to regional problems.
