Seminar on Planning for Streamside Habitats and Flood Resilience: A primer that will provide basic information on stream dynamics - how streams naturally flow on the land, how streams respond to disturbance and problems that can arise from the interaction of streams and human-built infrastructure, especially during flood events. Land Use Planning Workshops for Rensselaer Plateau Communities: The Rensselaer Plateau Alliance, Hudsonia Ltd., and the NYSDEC are offering two land use planning workshops in October (10/1 & 10/18) for Rensselaer Plateau communities. The trainings will focus on using new townwide ecological maps from the Rensselaer Plateau Regional Conservation Plan in local planning and decision-making. While these workshops will highlight resources developed for the Rensselaer Plateau, the concepts and strategies that will be discussed are broadly relevant to other communities, and we will accept registrations from other localities as space permits.
